Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What Is Hypnosis ?

A. Hypnosis is a mental state in which people experience increased attention, concentration, and suggestibility. While hypnosis is often described as a sleep-like state, it is better expressed as a state of focused attention, heightened suggestibility, and vivid fantasies, like when you daydream, you tend to block out other thoughts or stimuli that are present, and simply focus on your daydream. During hypnosis, you are inclined to focus fully on what is happening in the immediate moment, without being distracted by other thoughts or sounds.

Q. Is Hypnosis dangerous ?

A. Hypnosis conducted by a trained therapist or health care professional is considered a safe, complementary and alternative medical treatment. There has never been a documented case of harm coming to anyone from therapeutic use of hypnosis. However, hypnosis may not be appropriate in people with severe mental illness.

Q. Who can be hypnotized ?

A. Hypnosis can work for almost anyone except for people with severe mental illness. As a matter of fact, we all go into hypnosis at least two time a day, once when wakeup up in the morning and just before we fall asleep at night. If you can concentrate and relax you can be hypnotized.

Q. Can I get stuck in hypnosis ?

A. A Person can always awaken from hypnosis although sometimes they may feel reluctant to when they are having such a wonderful time. Over time if left alone a person will emerge from hypnosis all by them self.
